Yelp
I've been a patient of Dr Maggs as needed for over 40 years. My body has benefited immensely. I enjoyed a very busy athletic life playing tennis and teaching karate because of his orthotics and body alignment therapy. It'll behove everyone to get evaluated. What you don't know will hurt you.

3APR23 update: Kudos all around for the wonderful and loving couple and the rest of the staff, but I must give some long overdo and much deserved praise to Erin. I have been treated with every type of massage technique imaginable. I was excited to do the full 10-sessions of Rolfing, but I guess my case was too severe. However, all things happen for a reason. ERIN: *Has the warmest/most welcoming personality *You can tell she was just one of those people wired to help others *I LOVE how she go to where she is in this field by having to go through the same battles as her clients (well I don't love anyone suffering, especially not Erin lol!). It really bolsters her natural ability to empathize with others. *I love Thai and super deep sports massages, so I had my doubts. However, within minutes of her starting her magic on my ribs (intercostals).....I was like what is this (since I could barely feel her touch)?? However, then I felt all the little wire-like adhesion bundles literally popping as they were released. This was followed by a release of B-endorphins making me feel pain free and feel good. I would need to start another review to describe this unique modality. I've tried countless of therapies, and I was hopeful since Dr. Maggs & Trudy wouldn't just bring in anyone without fully vetting them. They couldn't have picked a therapist who so seamlessly integrated herself onto the team. Great office and great office staff. This will be updated after a few visits, but there are some great things to point out right off the bat as well as the only con that has come to light. PROS: 1. Easy to communicate via text or call with auto updates sent via text if you prefer (and I do). 2. Great communication from the office staff on every aspect thus far. 3. I love the approach Dr. Maggs takes with all the research. I read research papers on everything since the internet is filled with BS and people don't realize that many articles are anecdotal (which has its place along with research), paid by the company or product in question (biased), or in vitro and not quite that applicable to humans yet. He backs his claims and this is what really drove me to choose his office. 4. My bill was commensurate with my treatment. I've been to myriad chiropractors and only one other (in Vegas), didn't just charge me a fixed amount even if just talking to me. I'm a disabled veteran on a fixed income (paying out of pocket), so this is extremely important to me. 5. Dr. Maggs, similar to the Gonstead method, does scans before treatment. I think the proper way to do many treatments is to combine the best aspects of traditional methodologies with modern aspects, or Eastern and Western medicine combined. No one method is 100% correct on its own IMO. 6. He stresses the importance of our feet. In TCM, they say the feet are the second heart since they are that important. My acupuncturist states this regularly. He is the only non- TCM/Ayurvedic practitioner I've heard state this as well. 7. Last, and maybe the most important, Dr. Maggs began the session asking my to review my issues AND my expectations. He then made it clear what he would and wouldn't be doing during my first session. Many come in wanting to be adjusted, but he will wait for the proper scans. I think this is great, but even if you didn't, you'd at least be well informed so you don't leave the office disappointed in that regard.

My sister referred me to them, they have been the best so far and I believe that so far will turn to, an awesome place to get your issues handled regarding positioning, aches, pains ect: and if they can't, they will refer you to where you should go, where some places will not even refer you because they want all the credit. Try them you may even say oh I wish I would have known about them months ago years ago that's how I felt but it's never too late for something give it a try. Before you get that surgery. I'm sure it will take care of you before the surgery and after the surgery. And very friendly and not because they want to or have to you can feel it as you walk in the door.
My son Cayden Ferris has been playing high level travel baseball for the last 5 years. At the age of 13 he was one of a handful of kids in our Junior High asked to try out for the High School team in our area. It was a great honor to be asked, however in order to do so, he had to pass a rigorous Advanced Placement Physical Fitness Test. While training for this test on top of his usual obsessive baseball training, he suffered a back injury while swinging his bat. The injury put him in great pain and made it tough for him to walk.
After meeting with an Orthopedic Surgeon and getting an MRI, Cayden was diagnosed with a stress reaction/possible fracture of the Pars bone of the L5 vertebrae. I later found out this was called a pending spondylolisthesis. Our Doctor told us that he would need four weeks off all athletic activities and he would be fine. After that time there was no improvement. This was the case for four months and two additional doctors.
During this time, these doctors did not recommend anything else. My son was at wits end and it was turning into a full blown mental health issue on top of the physical problem. Feeling horrible and helpless that I could not help my son during this dark time in his life, I did what everyone does these days, I took to the internet. After MANY failed attempts and finding someone that would help us, I came across a YouTube Video about a High School Baseball Player in the Capital Region named Kyle Rubilotta, who suffered from the same injury as my son. Kyle was a patient of Dr. Tim Maggs.
The video immediately resonated with me and I contacted Dr. Maggs’ Office as soon as I could. After hearing the pain in my voice they took the time to speak with me for nearly a half hour and agreed to see my son as soon as we could get up to Schenectady. Once there, the Dr. Maggs really took the time to explain the entire injury and treatment process in a way that myself and my son could understand. He immediately set Cayden at ease and was the first doctor in this whole process that made him believe that he would get better. Cayden’s entire demeanor changed.
At this point, Cayden is out of pain, no longer wearing his back brace and beginning to introduce activity and exercise back to his schedule. Our goal is to get him back on the ball field, being a kid again, by Spring, 2022. Doctor Maggs and his staff have been with us the entire way taking my calls and answering emails as quickly as possible. We feel like they are fully invested in this with us and we owe them a debt of gratitude. Thank you Dr Maggs and staff.
